Fine Dining In A Forest Setting by askoi Fine Dining In A Forest Setting by askoi
First things first:  Don't be a dick in the comments; I don't go on your pictures of animals I consider ugly or gross and talk about killing or torturing them.  Thanks.

On to the picture!  I am always happy to see banana slugs out in the spring and summer, especially recently since their numbers here in the Pacific Northwest have been diminishing bit by bit (habitat loss, poisons, off road vehicles, non-native species predation, etc). This one was enthusiastically chowing down on some Old Man's Beard and did not even cringe at my flash (sheltered their* eyes briefly and kept going; no f***s given about the paparazzi with a meal that good).  The only video device on me was my dying phone so none of the amusing chewing was captured for posterity.  This specimen of nanner slug though was decently large; note the maple helicopter behind for scale.

Taken near the trail at Burfoot Park (Olympia WA)

*I use the plural neutral with slugs since they are, IIRC, fully hermaphroditic
